Odd Combination? My happy thought: Chili combos w/ Coleslaw

Some of you may find this verry odd: A hotdog with chili, cheese, and coleslaw.
Guy Fieri inspired me to try this combination, and every once in awhile I get a
craving for it.:)

Somehow the savory tomato, beef, and beans with the creamy, crunchy tang of the
coleslaw sure hits the spot. Right now I am enjoying an alternative: a mix of chili,
hearty brown rice, and crisp, mild coleslaw on top. YUM! :) You should try it.
You just might be surprised!

Oh sweet happy thought! Wonka Bottlecaps

Every once in awhile I get a nostalgic craving for one of the candies
I ate as a little girl. At the time I got them they were available almost
anywhere; now I can only find them in the Five and Dime store in the
next town over, or online. I prefer to get them at the former location.:)

Bottlecaps are shaped like their namesake, but have the consistency
about like Smarties. They come in 5 different flavors: Orange, Cola,
Cherry, Grape, and Root Beer. I have to say Root Beer is my
favorite flavor.:)

When I was little they came in flat little pouches. Now I can buy
them by the roll. How sweet is that? It's hard not to eat them all
in one sitting. Sometimes I have to discipline myself to divide them
up so that they'll last longer.:)

Summer Beauty: What I'm in the Mood for Right Now

What am I in the mood for right now?

I was looking through my Victorian Trading Co.
catalog, and found this. Doesn't this look like a perfect
place for faeries, or, for LOTR fans, a hobbit retreat?

I like to imagine this, even though it's made for regular-
sized people. :)

It's so whimsical. Can't you just picture the little creatures
pulling out cups of honeydew nectar and nibbling on dainties?

Happy Thoughts: Summer Fragrances I Love

I'm going to start out with my favorite summer candle, "Sun and Sand"
by Yankee Candles.

This candle is described as being a tropical beach breeze of sweet orange flower, lemony citrus, fresh lavender and powdery musk. I adore this scent. I had a votive of this in my droor for awhile, and
it smelled heavenly.

inspired by cool water flowing through a field of fresh flowers.

Today's Happy Thought: Summer Breeze (er, Wind)

As I live out in the country here in the Midwest of the U.S. of A.,
I have taken great pleasure at the onset of summer. The rise in temps
and humidity has given me a sense of gratitude at the moment. I look
back on the winter that we had, and I do not miss it. Right now I'm
savoring the strong, cool winds that make the slightly humid hot day
paradise. The combination is what you might call a vacation that has
blown into my back yard. This wind dances with the tall grasses in
the fields and ditches, flies with the birds, teases the animals' fur,
blows through the barn, and tugs and pushes at the clouds. It plays
tag with the flowers, cools the weary wanderer, and bids a cheerful
"hello" to those who embrace it. Sunshine sparkles and smiles
through, but doesn't daunt, this refreshing gale. Ahhh.
