Twilight Faerie Whimsy

Hues ranging from pink, blue, and lavender
creep up the serene sky as the earth succumbs
to twilight. Balmy breezes blow, and a
smattering of stars peek through the onset of
eventide. This is what dreams are made of.

Faeries lurk in their tiny homes waiting
for their rendezvous. Moonlight peers out from
above the sunset. Tall grasses wave
their greeting to the luminous orb as he smiles
down on them. Flowers lift up their essence as
a sweet offering of hospitality
to happy wanderers. Millions of fireflies dance
amidst all of it.

Trees reach up in inky black, lacey silhouettes
against the last hurrah of flaming pink sky.
The sun is going on holiday.

There they go! Did you see it? A turn of a
silvery faerie wing against an indigo sky,
tilted just so that the moonlight gilds it
ever-so-slightly. Soon you see another, and
another. They want to experience each blossom,
bud, and mysterious light sensation. They dance,
they fly. Each little faerie dressed to impress,
with the finest of silks, leaves, and tiny blooms
to adorn them. They are carefree, for where they
are is free from turbulence. ~*~

Faerie Muse: Outdoor Willow Furniture

willow furniture

I was looking through my Victorian Trading Co.
catalog, and found this. Doesn't this look like a perfect
place for faeries, or, for LOTR fans, a hobbit retreat?

I like to imagine this, even though it's made for regular-
sized people. :)

It's so whimsical. Can't you just picture the little creatures
pulling out cups of honeydew nectar and nibbling on dainties?

Why aurorapixieshappyplace?

I was just asked why I named this blog the way I did. Well, I've always loved Disney's "Sleeping Beauty", whose princess' name happens to be Aurora. Also, the Aurora Borealis is a breathtaking sight that I have
only seen through pictures, TV, computers, etc... Pixie is for my fascination of the little whimsical creatures
known as faeries. Not your typical Tinker Bell, mind you, but the really ethereal and beautiful flightly little
schemers that you find in Irish faerie tales. Have you ever wondered who the first person was to
imagine these into being? I do. In fact, I was just musing on this earlier today. Also, I think you can tell
that I want this to be a place that makes not only myself, but those who visit smile and laugh. :)

Here's what has to be my favorite song from "Sleeping Beauty":
Don't you just love the little woodland creatures that dance and hop about? :)

Who is your favorite Disney character(s)? Do you ever ponder faeries?
