Twilight Faerie Whimsy

Hues ranging from pink, blue, and lavender
creep up the serene sky as the earth succumbs
to twilight. Balmy breezes blow, and a
smattering of stars peek through the onset of
eventide. This is what dreams are made of.

Faeries lurk in their tiny homes waiting
for their rendezvous. Moonlight peers out from
above the sunset. Tall grasses wave
their greeting to the luminous orb as he smiles
down on them. Flowers lift up their essence as
a sweet offering of hospitality
to happy wanderers. Millions of fireflies dance
amidst all of it.

Trees reach up in inky black, lacey silhouettes
against the last hurrah of flaming pink sky.
The sun is going on holiday.

There they go! Did you see it? A turn of a
silvery faerie wing against an indigo sky,
tilted just so that the moonlight gilds it
ever-so-slightly. Soon you see another, and
another. They want to experience each blossom,
bud, and mysterious light sensation. They dance,
they fly. Each little faerie dressed to impress,
with the finest of silks, leaves, and tiny blooms
to adorn them. They are carefree, for where they
are is free from turbulence. ~*~

Fine Summer Breezes

Today I am refreshed and renewed with the excitement of a beautiful day. The sun sparkles on and through everything. The temps are in the 80's, and the wind is balmy and refreshing. I love how said wind blows
through my hair as I go about my tasks. Today is a day where I am eager to check the mail or hang out the
laundry. The birds sing and talk to each other as they fly around and go about their chores. They love this
day too, and it shows.

The leaves dance. Everything is so alive, green, and colorful. The peonies nod in agreement, and the iris
sway in unison. How glorious! I feel like my batteries are recharged from the sun. It makes me happy.
I'm eager to soak it all up and get my tan. Summer is pretty much here.

More importantly, however, is the unexplainable joy that the Lord has seen fit to bless me with today.

Time to hang out some more laundry!

How have you been given joy today?

Random Thoughts on Latvian Courtesy and Hair

I was just musing on the manners of the Latvian people. They are so interesting! They are some of
the most polite people I have ever encountered. They are warm, kind hearted people who, for the
most part, go out of their way to help others.

For example: people here are always supposed to be mindful of pedestrians. They are actually
required to stop for you if you are in what is called a "zebra walk". They have lights for this sort of
thing...but even when they don't they are required to let the pedestrians walk across the street
first.

People are astoundingly hospitable here. They are very open with their homes, very generous
with their food, and extremely amiable.

They always love to be involved helping with some kind of work.

If you are struggling with a baby buggy on a ramp or up the train steps they rush to your aid. When
you get on the train and you need a seat, they move over for you!

I have only had a few encounters with rudeness. They are few and far-between.

People are very casual for the most part and move over for you whenever you are in their path.
Either that or they calmly work their way around you.

They are more reserved, but very polite. They keep to themselves a good deal more than Iowans...
but that's completely understandable. Big cities are a good place to be cautious. In smaller groups
they are very friendly!

Now for the hair. Hair on men is like a regular short length combed over in the front, a crew cut,
a buzz, or a ponytail, give or take. I've also seen a few rattails on little boys. Interesting how that
comes back into fashion.

For the women I've seen a lot of "Roger Rabbit Red", if you know what I'm saying. I've not seen
that whole movie, mind you, but it is that kind of red hair. I've seen some layered medium length cuts,
and some random shorter cuts. The most prominent of all, though, is the amazing amount of women
whose hair is longer than mid-back length. It is so common here to just look down the sidewalk and
see one to a handful of women with stunning long hair! It's breathtaking! Not only that but they leave
it down most of the time! :D:D:D It's long hair lovers heaven over here.

Spring Scents and Colors

Spring is in the air! Ooooh, can't wait. Here are some fragrances and colors that put me in mind
of Spring:

I have the knock-off of this one:

I found this bottle on Amazon.com. The notes include: fresh rose, ginger, marigold, violet, oakmoss and
musk. Like I said, I have the imitation. It's a light floral that's perfect for a breezy spring evening.

I was sent a sample of the above perfume with a gift that I had ordered for a friend. You can find this
on Amazon.com or fragrancenet.com. It is a floral that starts out fresh and crisp, then mellows into
what I would describe as beautiful mystery. It's recommended for day wear, but I think it would be lovely
to wear out in the evening, as well.

For some reason this classic scent, introduced in 1974, is recommended for evening wear. I've generally
thought of it as a day scent, myself. Either way, I love this fragrance! It has powdery florals mixed with
woods and musk. It's very sweet, soft, fresh, and clean. You can also get this from the sources sited above.
Mine came from Wal-Mart.:)

This fragrance hails from Bath and Body Works. It's a romantic scent that includes garden lavender,
roses, violets, and musk. The picture above is the one that I own. This particular packaging has been
discontinued. The fragrance, however, continues to grace the shelves in an all new bottle and box.

Rare Pearls is an Avon fragrance. This Eau De Parfum sports elegance in its every note which includes:
rosewood, plum, honey, pepper, magnolia, musk, sandalwood, and patchouli. I have to say that the most
prominent note is magnolia.

What colors put me in mind of spring? Airy whites, lavenders, baby pinks, powder blues, mauve, aqua,
and dove gray. All I need now is a long, flowy taupe skirt, white chiffon blouse, and a long scarf for my
hair. Set me walking in a soft breeze and I've got it made!
